Stereo on a Chip Sample Images

Distance Analysis with STOC camera

street sceen on left, color coded for distance image on right from STOC-30cm camera

Check out the stereo output from the STOC camera by clicking on the image above. The video shows the street scene on the left and a color-coded distance image on the right.

3D Reconstruction with STOC camera

These images were taken with a color STOC, using 6 mm lenses.  Processing of the images was done on the STOC device, to produce a disparity image (an image where brightness codes for distance).  The disparity and original images were sent to a PC, where the disparity image was converted into 3D points.  The 3D point conversion is very efficient, and takes only a few milliseconds.

MIDDLE - Disparity image in pseudo-color.  Shows the basic output of the STOC chip.

BOTTOM - 3D point cloud from stereo analysis - click on the image for a VRML animation.  (2 MB VRML - You need a VRML plugin to view the 3D animation, e.g., Cortona).  When the VRML image displays, click on the center to animate the point cloud.
